Bioy Casares wrote in his diary an anecdote about
The Tunnel. He says that Sabato gave him the novel, and ask him to "correct" it. Bioy did it: he took a red pencil and made a lot of annotations. Then, he send back the book to Sabato. The fact was that Sabato was waiting laudatory remarks about his work, so he gets very angry when Bioy treats him like a rookie and from that moment the two writers (I mean, the writer and the guy with glasses) went on a silently fight.
