I would guess they went to Scotland because Hemon, editing, liked what he read. Dalkey Archive aren't just about translation as we've seen in both their American Literature/British Literature series. Subsequent years may see British writers drop out and, who knows, Czech, Moldovan, and Belarusian writers drop in.
