The other day it dawned on me, what our dear Stewart has actually managed to do by making this site.
I must admit at first when the site was up, I couldnt see the vision of bringing all the world?s literature together on one site.
But now I do!
I see that via literature, Stewart has actually made it possible for us, to get in touch with the knowledge of other places and cultures around the whole world. We may get to read books from countries we would never dream of before cause we would not have done a search by ourselves.
Someone may write a review of a book we have never heard of and therefore lead us to a new author, a new culture and a new country.
To me that makes Stewart the best visionary of how to intergrate understading of other cultures, nations, religions etc. He has provided the tools and this may be a side effect to his own vision, but what a great one indeed!
Here we talk together from all parts of the world, discussing books and authors, but also we get to learn about each other and the places where we live.
One great example of this cultural exchange: When Bjorn made a brilliant review of Paulo Coelho "The alchemist" and a teacher, Hani, in Pakistan took that review to her class! :D
So thank you, Stewart!
I think it was about time, someone mentioned this and acknowledge the vision you had, right from the start!
