Hi miriring, I've made a thread specifically for this event. Can you tell us a little more about it? Has it been going for a while, or is it a new event?

Hye Stewart,
It is not the first time we have this writers Festival here.
Look at the least of the authors. I think it is very respectfull.
I am going tomorow to 2 sessions. One is with a portuguese writer Lidia Jorge who is a very interesting writer.
her books were translated into many languages. I have to check for the English translation. Sometimes the english translation is not so well...

The Literary Review mentioned this festival a couple of days ago and now mentions it again today (http://www.complete-review.com/saloon/archive/200805c.htm#eu8), noting that there's a Palestine Literary Festival (http://www.palestinelitfest.org/home.htm) running concurrently with it. This time in the mention is regarding an article (http://www.csmonitor.com/2008/0515/p07s02-wome.html) in the Christian Science Monitor, observing that the Israeli-Palestinian split even extends to literature.
