Anyone read the Prix Medicis winner? ANd btw what won the Prix Etranger this year?

I heard bad things (http://z11.invisionfree.com/thefictionalwoods/index.php?showtopic=2472&view=findpost&p=4869223) about this one.
It's failed in a not really good way. The story of the Jesuit is great and could have given sth fantastic had it been handled by a better writer. But large parts are useless, uninteresting, just "minable" to use a French word. The dialogs are real bad most of the time too: artificial, bland, uninspired and built on clich?s after clich?s.
