I thought to make a thread where we could let the others know about our personals professional events.

I have an expo organized in Paris at the end of the week.
The main theme is Pin up, with a 70's touche to it,and a few Jazz images.
Here is the card

It's not Major art work but i make a living with it and i enjoy my work.I consider myself more of a craftman than an artiste. They are big sizes, oil on canvas.

It's better than Van Gogh did, selling only one painting in his life. ;)

Thomas,
I'm delighted you started this thread. It's wonderful to know what you're up to. As an art lover, I'm particularly interested. Best of luck to you regarding the expo. Your paintings are very modish. I'm a big fan of fashions from the 60s and 70s; so, I very much like the fact that these pictures are reminiscent of that time period. Enjoy your time in Paris!

Best,
Titania

I wasn't sure what would classify under the heading "Personal Events," but it seems to me that the creation of a brand-new blog can definitely be accurately termed an "event." As most of you at the WLF know, I have a literature blog, only there is only one review there at the present time. Yes, I know. . .there's no excuse for this. But, like so many people, I try to find excuses where I can. Sometimes I find excuses available for purchase in thrift shops, but usually I have to go to a specialty store, and believe me, I pay LOTS of $$$$ to buy my excuses by the bulk ;). Why? Because I like to always have at least half a dozen excuses on hand at any given moment. I store them in the garage along with all the canned goods (although excuses usually come in a bag, not a can).

But, on a more serious note, I really do have a new blog, and it would make me very happy if you took the time to browse it. I realize it doesn't have anything to do with literature; however, I do share some advice that might encourage you if you are an aspiring writer and/or you are not living the life of you desire and/or feel you deserve. So, even if you think this blog isn't for you, you might just want to click on the link below. After all, have you really got anything to lose??

Oh. . .and before I forget, in case you wonder who the Success Diva is. . .well, that would be me, Alexis aka Titania7.

Go here. . .if you feel darlng, that is!

I hope you have a very successful show.

For a minute there, I thought it was an ad for phone sex. Dial !-800-Let'sDiscover.

I think that Beelzebubbles, despite the devilish nom-de-plume, has a point. I hadn't actually seen the original posting from November till now, but it certainly does look like phone(y) sex.

The name of the gallery is amusing. Ambiguous, in that it could be drinking champagne or imply that the artists are toast, if they show too much leg on rue d'Attrape.

Another good pun is "take me out". Isn't that what the SAS do?

And another: was this really taken outside the (Bearded) Clam Bar? This is an Aussie expression, as I believe.

I'm now going to click on Titania, as in: Alex is Titania. But she's too serious to be a pin-up, surely.

Well, a couple of days ago I had my translation of a Danish short story accepted by a Scottish literary magazine (there's a lot of goodwill towards Scandinavian literature up here), and the owner of a genetic genealogy website invited me to write something about my mitochondrial genetic links to Ulster, with a photo of self, which I duly did. I illustrated it with a photo of my wife and myself taken in 2004 at Lake Louise, Alberta, with a glacier behind us, and this guy just LOVES that photo because he lives in Mississippi, it's 100F down there, and he has just been fantasizing about glaciers.

Well this all sounds very exciting!

I suspect that this isnt the place for me to offer insights into the life of an accountant. :(

It might have the same effect as the despair squid in Red Dwarf.

Titania is so cute! Trying to promote yourself as much as possible, aren't you, Lexy? You know I'm teasing you. I told you to start another success blog a long time ago, if you remember. Anyway, doll, I know you're going to do an awesome job of keeping up this blog because you're committed this time, aren't you? Ready to take life on and make the best of it and all that, I suspect. Well, I'm proud of you.

And, Liam, I don't think Titania could ask for a better friend than you. She's already told me lots about you, and all I have to say is, I want a gay man as one of my best friends, too. I think they're more loyal, and you don't have to wonder whether not they're just telling a girl the things she wants to hear.

Sincerely,
Diana
