I think this might be of some value to Stewart:
Impeccable Birdfeeding: How to Discourage Scuffling, Hull-Dropping, Seed-Throwing, Unmentionable Nuisances and Vulgar Chatter at Your Birdfeeder by Bill Adler Jr. I bet there is information here that may be of use to forum administrators or moderators. I like this title: The Stray Shopping Carts of Eastern North America by Julian Montagu. I imagine it's like a birding book. Maybe it comes with a pair of binoculars for shopping cart spotting and blank pages to write in your finds. "I saw a Big Lots cart down by the Pathmark. It was five miles away from its natural habitat the Parkside Mall parking lot. How did it migrate this far?"

Aw, Thomas, how thoughtful of you.
I've now read the entire list, impressive stuff! edit: I am a little alarmed now, after showing the list to my boyfriend he wants to order Gangsta Rap Coloring Book. But I too would love The Pop-Up Book of Phobias ![]()

The Social History of the Machine Gun by John Ellis
Funny, I was reading this (for the 3rd time) just a few minutes ago. I can see why its title would appeal for a list like this, but in fact it's a remarkably concise and interesting book, essentially exploring the "industrialization" of war as reflected in the development of automatic weapons from the mid-19th century forward. It is a bit hard to categorize ... on my military bookshelves I keep it next to The Great War and Modern Memory -- a less piquant title, but equally as unusual and fascinating a book. Both are must-read for anyone with more than a passing interest in the past century or so of warfare. BRocket

One of my colleague, who was fascinated by the name, had taken it from me 7 years ago. He returned this book, last week ( I am sure, he wouldn't have read a page). |
