Mexico Re: The youtube music video thread

After being invited to Mexico by the Mexican ambassador to Estonia in 2012, Arvo Pärt wrote this beautiful composition as a gift to Mexico and its people.

I could listen to his music till the end of time--

Although I find the piece stunning, I wonder if Medieval Spanish would have been a more impactful decision for the vocal.

^He based it on the legend of the Virgin of Guadalupe, so it would depend on what version of the text he used--it may have been written down in modern Spanish. I am also not sure if Mexicans ever spoke medieval Spanish. Daniel would know more about this: the earliest Spanish recorded in Mexico, is it already modern or not? I know English enters its modern phase roughly around the sixteenth century.

Yeah, yeah - you're right. A bit culturally insensitive on my part. I took a look at the score http://www.universaledition.com/Virg...534/work/14189 , and the lyrics most likely would have been similar anyhow.

I've heard my daughter talk about this singer named Adele, she's really good, and I just realized that she sang Rolling in the Deep which was years ago.

Anyway, this is my favorite song of her, the beat is just amazing, and the underlying attitude is what I loved about this song.

I've always loved Damien Rice, and this new song is no exception, I can't stop listening to it. If you like his stuff, be sure to check out Lisa Hannigan, she's amazing! Her new song Snow is beyond words.

I like how the piano sounds. This is a piece of music by modern composer - Shelygin: YouTube - I. Shumakova ft. A. Shelygin

She does sound the "same" from song to song, but I think that's what I like; I also find her voice relaxing, so I have it in the background when I'm doing chores and such,

Yeah, I like a couple of songs but she can be very repetitive. Video Games is really good.
