    Lobo Antunes seemed happy with his prize
    Happy is the key word here: I don't think I've ever seen this gentleman smile at all. But he's a pretty good writer, with a style as intricate as Saramago's. I think anyone who gives him a try will be be quite surprised.

    I only read one of his books and it reminded me of Faulkner, only less good. Yet another one I need to read more of.
