American director Terrence Malick's 1950s family-saga The Tree of Life has won the Palme d'Or.
Hellz yeah!!!One of the worthiest and most beautiful winners in years, if not decades, of the festival's history.

Re: Palme d'Or Winner
I've posted these before, but here we go again:
Im glad to see that Denmark is doing fine in spite of Lars von Trier's behaviour;
Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn won in Cannes with his American movie "Drive" starring the very nice Ryan Gosling!
Then there is the British Bafta reward, where the Danish TV series "Forbrydelsen" / "The Killing" won in the category Best Foreign Drama.![]()
Who cares about the nationalities of the winners? I prefer to see this as a competition between films and directors and actors... many of them are international projects anyway (e.g. the LvT film). But I am glad that Kirsten Dunst got the Best Actress Award despite the childish misbehaviour of her director. Also I am very very glad for The Tree of Life, it is definitely a worthy winner.
