Will it be worse than The Bad Girl though?

The Bad Girl was a terrible book, everything has to better than that dud. I can't really read spanish, so I dont really know what the spanish language media had to say about it, but francophone media have been reviewing it favorably.

So at his age, he is past his prime for sure, but I still liked The Discreet Hero (except for Hey Wadda Ya Think? which was kind of annoying)

No, The Bad Girl is totally apart. Still can't believe he wrote such a crap. I haven't read Cinco Esquinas but as it didn't have a good reception and as time passes I hate more and more this guy it put me totally down to read it.

Now that I'm actually reading the book, I think the title of the English Edition is superior to the original one, since it indicates the book's overall quality...

Alan Hollinghurst has a new novel coming out in 2018 (it'll be released a few months earlier in the UK).

A few upcoming *new/newish* publications: Clarice Lispector's second novel The Chandelier; John Ashbery's poetic collages; the unpublished poems of Charles Bukowski; Karimayi (translated for the first time?); Chuck Palahniuk's new "color-me-in" novella (I have to say, I love the conceit, though it seems a bit gimmicky); a treasury (700+ pages!) of African American folktales annotated by Maria Tatar and Henry Louis Gates Jr.; a new account of Ezra Pound's "mad" years in the insane asylum (looks like a page-turner!); and (for those who read pop fiction), Dan Brown's new "earth-shattering" offering (yeah, right!): ORIGIN.

Modiano will be releasing a new novel and a new play on the same day.
