For most of us, tax is an annoyance. But we've got to comply. Because we live at a fixed address and earn money, mostly from a salary from a company that also has a fixed address. But it's different for some large companies that can register an head office anywhere in the world, and spend money on lawyers to do creative tax accounting (read: dodging).

Amazon is efficient, and even runs a good second-hand book service. But the press has been suggesting recently that its creative tax accounting is tantamount to a fiddle:

I feel that the world should cherish its bookshops. And moves like this can threaten them, because an online set-up (where you can't, remember, leaf through the whole book) can sell things so cheap that bookshops are killed off.
