    United Kingdom Richard Mason

Richard Mason (1977-) has got it all: young, handsome, successful, . Born in South Africa, educated in Britain (where he's lived longest), recently relocated to NYC.

Author of five novels, The Drowning People (which became a bestseller), Us, The Lighted Rooms, Natural Elements and, more recently, History of a Pleasure Seeker (2011).

He founded and maintains the Lulutho environmental project in South Africa, aimed to protect the beautiful natural landscape of the Eastern Cape.

    South Africa Re: Richard Mason

He's got an interesting background, which you can hear something about in the interview on video:

    http://www.canal-l.com/index.php?id_video=274

You will note that he mentions that his great-grandmother was "interned by the Brits", i.e. was a Boer or Afrikaner. He himself has gone to Eton and Oxford, so his Afrikaner background didn't stop him being educated in the UK.

I hope Liam can find out a bit more about the books, as in that video interview, he only discusses one.
