    United States Philip Roth: Indignation

A wonderful book. I'm very fond of Roth's latest forays into the short novel. Indignation was no masterpiece, but compelling and brilliant nonetheless. Part social and historical commentary, part elaborate Kafka joke.

Christ, I love Roth. Greatest living American author. The Humbling comes out next year!

    Nice!!
I am looking forward to reading his latest books, Everyman, Exit Ghost and Indignation.
(For some unknown reason I try to keep a chronological order as far as his books go and I have yet to read Human Stain, so I keep those for later).

Yeah, I haven't read Exit Ghost because I'm re-reading all the Zuckerman books atm chronologically. But Everyman is a wonderful novel, a late masterpiece.

I found everyman a tired novel, retreading old paths, a quick summary of a career. as much as I love roth (a lot), this one did not work at all for me. in a way it was a roth caricature, a bad roth imitator.

I have exit ghost still to read but I need to reread the zuckerman bound trilogy first.
