"After all manner of professors have done their best for us, the place we are to get knowledge is in books."

~ Albert Camus (1913 - 1960)

Soon to be called "Is beer important?"

Welcome back Stewart.

We could start another beery thread. But I suppose it's more thrilling to go off-topic here. Human psychology: if it's forbidden or not done, it's more fun.

Hey, is it possible to start a mailing list or something, like something weekly enumerating the new threads started?
'twould be bloody nice, especially since I'm underage and can't drink.

It's something I could look into, yes. It would be an opt in/opt out feature, so as not to pester those that don't want the updates. Also, if you use Twitter, each thread gets tweeted to the @WorldLitForum account.

Early October is for the WLF like Christmas for department stores. I join the celebration.
Cheers!

Should we start speculating on 2010 Nobel Prize already?

I have a question I hope someone can answer.
What do I do to paste a picture in a thread when the picture is in my hard disk?
The insert image function only works for URL's, so there's no way to browse in my PC.

I though of something that, i'm quite certain, will be impossible but one can hope against all odd(like phil collins would put it)

When i look i my website gears on Google analytic, there is this wold map thing showing me were my visitors(massive flock of them !) come from.
I love it.
So i thought that it would be real sweet to have one with little dots to show who is online and from where.

Maybe if i write to Santi..?!

It would be a bunch of guys in UK, another bunch in US and India, Stiffelio in Argentina, and you and me. Oh, and Eric all over Europe trying to control everything like Napoleon.

But everything is possible, is just question to write to Stewart Claus.

Anyone you can think of from Africa? We don't want an unrepresented continent, do we?
Also, a couple from China/Korea.

Well there was Mimi and Chika, both African girls, none of them living in their home countries. There is also Thomas, who lives in Morocco.

We are in total need to have someone from far east, Japan, Korea, China, so maybe we need to send Stewart or Bjorn for scouting possible future members for the forum.

I vaguely remember Mimi from long back but not Chika.

Liehtzu and nnyhav. Yeah, we need more.
The outsider lives in Argelia not in Morocco, but sure Thomas is like Mersault, only with a little bit of better humour

There is also Slow Rain who lives in Hong Kong, but as far as I perceive he is Brittish or American. We need a native born from those lands.

What happened to the daily mailer idea? I solved it through RSS, but that solution would require you to be active in the blogosphere. Similar with the twitter thing. The only thing certain about WLF users is that they use their e-mail.

Also, in the 'reply to thread' e-mails, the URL is given as <thread location>#newpost
This is a problem because it takes you to the latest post rather than the one you're receiving the e-mail about, which is a problem if you've been offline during extensive activity.
Would it be very hard to change it to <thread location>#<post no.>?
