Ali Smith seems to be a favorite with you, Ben. And the homework for the Wolfie is almost done.

Yes. Smith has been getting a lot of attention in relation to the Nobel Prize in recent years, so I need to be updated. She has new works coming up, a political duology (can't remember the titles now). The first volume is coming around July, and the other towards the end or next year. Her works since the Quartet has become more political, indicating a quite departure from her existential-inspired outlook in works like Hotel World (my favourite) for example. I still have How to be Both to read before the Nobel speculations begins in May.

As for the Wolfie, save to say I'm done with Carson and Thu Huong, at least with what I have and available. Carson has a new work called Wrong Norma, which's well received, but I think with what I have read from her (about six--eight books), I wouldn't bother with her new work. If I pick it up before the end of September, fine, if I don't, still fine.

I haven't read Ulitskaya yet. I have about four of her books, including her recently translated short stories from 2019 (Body and Soul). I still hope I can find Just a Plague Year, her recent novel from 2021 before the end of September.
