Is there any way of doing a search within a thread? If you look up a word or name and the thread has three pages, it's easy to spot the highlighted thing you're looking for. However, if the thread has 27 pages and a total of a couple of hundred or thousand postings, finding what you're looking for appears to me to be very time-consuming, unless there is a trick I don't know of.

I don't know whether you can search within a thread but you can get your results in the form of posts instead of just threads with specific word. You get results from various threads but when you click on one of the results you automatically are directed to a post message. To do that go to Advanced Search, then choose Search Single Content Type and then on the very bottom choose Posts in the Show Results As section.
