I just finished reading Home written by Marilynne Robinson and am planning to buy her other book Gilead.
The novel approached some topics that are not commonly talked about in modern romance filled literary era, including familial love between father and son as well as brother and sister. The never-ending concerns of a father for his son throughout different stages of his life were so movingly depicted through both retrospections and conversations. The yearning for respect and re-acquainting with her elder brother from the baby sister of the family were another important facet of this book. I quite enjoyed the theological discussions about soul, predestination and generational sin leading to God's wrath and punishment etc.
I would like to hear the insights from other readers.
