John Barth (1930-2024)

A postmodern legend. Glad he got to live such a long life. I think he's the last of his generation (bar maybe Pynchon, who might not even be alive for all we know?)— and certainly one of the best. Always knew how much experimenting was just the right amount. Complexity too.

I've always been slightly too intimidated to read The Sot-Weed Factor (brick), but The Floating Opera and Lost in the Funhouse (particularly the former) are some of my favourites from that era.

RIP

What a terrible day for literature

Poet John Sinclair died that day too (thread not made yet). Definitely a name everyone should know (whether from a political activist or literature standpoint).
