Moira MacEntee (Irish: Máire Mhac an tSaoi) died last month, aged 99. She was one of my favorite Irish-language poets.

I am away from home right now, but I'll post a few of her poems when I get back.

The best book to get if you wish to acquaint yourself with this poet is The Miraculous Parish, which spans her entire career and includes both the Irish originals and the facing-page English translations.

Yes she died same day as Brendan Kennelly (see my obit notice). She was married to statesman Conor Crusie O'Brien, himself a fine writer cf. The Great Melody - his pioneering book on fellow (& one of the greatest) Irishman Edmund Burke
