Neo-baroque, known as Neobarroco in Spanish, is a Literary Movement emerged in Cuba during the Cuban Revolution with the aim of dribbling the Censorship on arts and homosexuality.

The characteristics of this movement are: transvestism, defense of homosexuality and freedom and poetic prose strongly influenced by Spanish El Siglo de Oro.

Key figures:

- Severo Sarduy;
- José Lezama Lima;
- Alejo Carpentier;
- Virgilio Piñera;
- Guillermo Cabrera Infante

Despite being Brazilian and doesn't approach these aforementioned themes, I could add here Josué Montello as a foreigner representantive of this movement by characteristics of his prose.
