Happy with this. I've only read The Years, but I liked it very much and will get to more of her stuff in due course.

This is a staggering hit rate for Fitzcarraldo Editions, her UK publisher - three Nobel laureates in recent years for such a small publishing house!

I'm glad with this decision. I've read three of her nouvelles (not The Years yet) and quite liked them. I also have a book signed by her and had the pleasure of speaking a little bit with her. Very nice & warm lady.

I've read the years, it was one of the very best books I read last year. I just picked up a girl's story, getting lost, happening, and simple passion. I'm very very happy they awarded someone so deserving in my opinion.

Her Swedish publisher suggests to start with La Place (A Man's Place) and Une Femme (A Woman's Story) and that Les Années (The Years) is her masterpiece.

I honestly thought she'd never win, because this cloud of "perennial candidate" that haunts writers like Ngugi, Kadare, Murakami, and Roth (RIP) was forming around her. I've read The Happening and The Years, and I think she's a very deserving choice.
