And laureates of Medici prix:

Emmanuelle Bayamack-Tan for best French novel,
Andrey Kurkov for best foreign novel,
Georges Didi-Uberman for best essay.

Emmanuelle Bayamack-Tam’s Arcadie (2018) explored a utopian community from the point of view of an intersex adolescent’s journey of self-discovery and escape to the outside world as the delicate ecology of her home begins to unravel. The quality of the writing is such that, in the words of A.O. Scott (on the subject of another writer altogether), “even when I was bored, I was interested.” I look forward to La Treizième heure.

Didn't read Lidia Jorge and wasn't impressed by "Vegetarian". Do you have some experience with books by Lidia Jorge?
I once read a book of short stories by her (Don´t remember the title. Found it good but not overwhelming. Learnt just now that she also writes novels. From Han Kang I read "The White Book" and was impressed by its delicacy and originality.
