I know Esther Kinsky, she's had a few of her novels translated into English (most recently River and Grove), and the one longlisted here is soon to be published as well. Haven't read her yet... but I very much want to.

I thought Jackie Thomae and her monumental "Brüder" ("Brothers") was on the longlist.

Actually, she lives in my city (Salvador) and this book is ongoing in translation (into Portuguese).

Edit: this book was on the longlist in 2019.

At first, I thought I recognized Esther Kinsky's name, but then I quickly realized I had blended the author Esther Freud with her novel Hideous Kinky. Has anyone read that novel, by the way? I enjoyed the film that starred Kate Winslet as a British ex-pat in Morocco. Enough time has passed since I watched it that I might want to give the book a go.
