Regina Spektor's new album is out today, and I love that she recorded a song I'd listen to all the time from one of her live performances in my early years of obsession with her. It's a really cute song!

Theme song from a Soviet cult classic, Long Road in the Dunes. Filmed in Latvia, with Latvian actors, with a clear communist/socialist message, but the film (8 hours long) is still great!!! And the music is beautiful (Latvian composer, Raimonds Pauls). Lilita Ozolina in the main role is SO beautiful!!! ?

The new Björk song will take you to the dance floor ?

Last few Björk albums always have this thing that it takes time for me to like them. I think I'm going through that with that song. I like the beats though. Aaaand let me just say I'm seeing her in November. Can't wait!

Ahhhhhh you made me so jealous right now!!! It's quite impossible for me to go to São Paulo just to see her...

I hope you enjoy every second of the show, tho!

When my daughters attended elementary school, they participated in school choir. A couple of times, their school was visited by an in-state (Minnesota) acappella group who would encourage the kids' music study. The group would also perform a couple of songs to help promote their performance scheduled for that evening. Much to my surprise, I learned recently that the group, Home Free, not only has a national following now, but also an international one. Here's a fun video from several years ago that features the group's rendition of "A Man of Constant Sorrow," a folk song that was featured in the Coen brothers film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" Home Free has added country twang and even a hip hop beat to this 100-year-old classic. Check it out, even if just to hear the beat boxer playing harmonica using only his hand!

24 hours and not a single comment? Does that mean no one has watched the video or you're not impressed?

Sorry, just didn´t see it before. We have arrived at that voluminous moment when between my daily entrances into the forum, there are about 50 e-mails and I get a little lost. I liked it very much! The singers are are totally tuned to each other and this way of producing the accompanying sounds, without the studio paraphernalia is very Brazilian.

Thanks for checking it out, Leseratte. I think the group is very impressive, and since many of the members grew up in state, I feel a little extra sense of loyalty to them.
